Neva (Martin) Abelson – BS 1934, Chemistry. Developer of
the test for Rh factor in blood.
Philip Abelson – BS 1933, Chemistry & MS 1935 Physics.
Science magazine editor, president of Carnegie Institute, “father
of the nuclear submarine,” National Science Academy Public
Welfare medalist.

William Wiley – PhD 1965 Bacteriology. Vice president for
science and technology and director of research, Battelle Memorial
Institute; director, Pacific Northwest Laboratory.
1990
Allan C. Wilson – MS 1957, Zoology, Pre-medical. Professor,
University of California, Berkeley, developer of the “evolutionary
molecular clock” concept.
1992
Harold F. Winters – PhD 1963, Physics. IBM research scientist,
pioneer in plasma and surface physics.
