We will cover most of the material in Chapters 7-11 and we will allocate, on the average, three weeks for each chapter. \item The one-hour Exams will given during the regular 2:10 pm class period and will be based upon homework, computer assignments, lectures, and tutorials. The Exam dates are Sept. 30, Oct. 28, and Dec. 6. Quizes will be given during the Tutorial sessions. \item Copies of previous Math. 172 exams are available on two hour reserve in the Owen Science Library. There is also a solutions manual for most of the problems there. \item HOMEWORK: {\em Late homework will not be accepted without a truly valid reason.} Homework for the material covered in one week will be collected on your first tutorial meeting of the following week. \item The Tutorial sections are {\bf NOT} interchangeable. You must attend the section for which you are enrolled and turn in your homework there. \item The Final Examination is comprehensive. It will be given in common with both sections of Math 172. \item Computer assignments are done in the Newton MicroLab, Neill 101-W, where appropriate software and hardware are located. Special arrangements may be made if you want to do the Lab assignments elsewhere. The first computer assignment will be due on the week of Sept 23. Due dates for the other two will be given later. \item The Prerequisite for Math 172 is Math 171 or a sound knowledge of the fundamentals of differential and integral calculus of a single variable. If you are in doubt about your background please see Dr. Barnes as soon as possible. \end{enumerate} \end{enumerate} \end{document}
