- Terminology - Understand what terms mean and how to use:
homogeneous, nonhomogeneous, characteristic equation, Wronskian,
fundamental set, linearly (in)dependent, complex roots, repeated roots,
undetermined coefficients, variation of parameters.
- Techniques - Be able to use with simple problems:
- solution of n
order constant coefficient linear homogeneous
equations;
- solution of n
order equations using undertermined
coefficients;
- solution of n
order equations using variation of
parameters;
- use of initial value(s) to determine final solution;
- computation of Wronskians.
- "Facts" and Theorems - Be able to use this information:
- existence and uniqueness theorem for solutions to n
order linear
