Estimate The Area Under A Curve

Try to calculate the area under a curve (that is, between the curve and the x-axis) by placing adjustable, moveable geometric shapes under the curve and then summing the area contained in the shapes.

How close can you get to the actual area under the curve?

Can you ever determine the actual area under a curve by using this method of summing the areas of geometric shapes placed under a curve?
