The correctness of given answers is determined by string comparison. So, things like typing in 0.667 for 2/3, entering 0.5 as opposed to .5, and entering y=-2x+2 as opposed to y=2-2x can mean the difference between finding an answer correct or incorrect. The following give some more do's and don'ts.

Answers must be given in one of the following three forms:
Name of Form Equation of Form
Point-Slope form y - y1 = m(x - x1 )
Slope-Intercept form y = mx + b
General form Ax + By + C = 0

Enter fractions as decimals correct to no more than 3 decimal places.

Example: Enter 50.667 for 152/3
Example: Enter 0.5 for 1/2 (the 0 is important)

Enter integers in the natural way.

Example: Enter 4 for a 4

Don't use a * for multiplication.

Example: Enter 3x for 3 times x
Example: Enter 3(x-2) for 3 times x minus 2

Use + (plus) instead of -- (minus times minus)

Example: Enter x+2 for x-(-2)
